In each composition I seek to express the moment when the I was inspired by the emotion of the scene. I try to re-create this moment in a minimal sense, avoiding the details that are unnecessary to express it.
My interest is primarily in the landscape, with unlimited resources here in Oregon for subject matter. The Umpqua River, Garden and Melrose Valleys and the coast near Bandon are represented in much of my work.
I am currently planning on creating a series of abstract paintings.
Abstract expressionism has always drawn me in as mostly minimal, subjective renderings. This work closely coincides with much of the poetry that I love.
